Momentum Stalls Near the Sixty-K Mark

Ethereum just hit the brakes. After holding a solid buy rating at $60,466.01, the momentum drained out of the room, dragging our score down ten points to a flat 58. We’re moving to a WAIT stance at the current $60,430 level because the technical tailwinds simply stopped blowing. You don't ignore a double-digit score drop when the price action is essentially flat.

The Moving Average Trap

Look at the moving averages if you want to see where the friction is coming from. The MA50 is currently sitting at 59,951.17, while the MA200 is hovering just above it at 60,018.59. That’s a tight, uncomfortable squeeze. When long-term and short-term averages converge this closely, it usually precedes a period of directionless chopping or a sharp rejection. We aren't seeing the definitive breakout needed to justify a fresh entry. The market is basically undecided, and being the first one to jump into an undecided trade is a great way to get liquidated.

Overbought Warnings and Silent Sentiment

The RSI(14) is currently clocked at 59.7. While that’s not deep in overbought territory, it’s high enough to suggest the easy gains for this leg are likely behind us. It shows a market that has been pushing upward but lacks the volume to punch through the resistance overhead. Meanwhile, the Fear & Greed index is sitting at 0. That’s a total blackout on sentiment data, which usually means the market is operating in a vacuum of conviction. Traders are staring at their screens waiting for someone else to make the first move.

What Traders Should Watch

For anyone holding ETH, this isn't necessarily a signal to dump everything, but it's certainly a signal to stop adding to positions. We're looking for a clear separation between the MA50 and MA200 before we lean back into a buy. If the price slips below that 59,951.17 floor, things could get ugly fast. For now, the smartest move is to keep your capital on the sidelines and let the chart prove it has more gas left in the tank.

Will the MA200 act as a hard ceiling or a launchpad for the next leg up?

Not financial advice.
