ETH Signal Flip: Shifting from Sell to Wait at $108.64

The Bleeding Stops, But the Recovery Hasn't Started

Ethereum just flipped the script, and not in the way bulls were hoping for. While we've moved away from a hard 'Sell' rating, the new 'Wait' verdict at $108.64 isn't an invitation to start longing. The overall technical score actually dropped from 45 to a dismal 34/100. It's a paradox of the tape: the momentum is worse, yet the immediate danger of a further vertical collapse has paused because there's simply nobody left to sell.

We're staring at a market that's completely hollowed out. The Fear & Greed index is sitting at a flat 0. That's not just fear; that's total capitulation. When the market reaches zero, it usually means the retail crowd has packed their bags and the institutions are sitting on their hands waiting for a spark that hasn't arrived yet.

The Moving Average Death Grip

The chart looks heavy because it is. ETH is currently pinned below its major trendlines, with the MA50 at $110.19 and the MA200 at $109.32. Being stuck under both averages is a classic bearish posture. The fact that the shorter-term MA50 is now trending above the MA200 is a technical quirk that usually signals a period of chop rather than a clean breakout. Until ETH can reclaim $110.19 and hold it for more than a few four-hour candles, any rally is just a dead cat bounce.

However, the RSI(14) is the only reason we aren't screaming 'Sell' anymore. At 37.6, we're hovering just above the oversold boundary. Sellers are tired. Pushing the price significantly lower from here requires a new catalyst that the market hasn't already priced in. We're in a vacuum where the path of least resistance is sideways.

Trading the Stagnation

If you're looking for a hero trade, this isn't it. The gap between the current price of $108.64 and the MA200 at $109.32 is tight, leaving almost no room for a profitable scalp. Volatility has been sucked out of the room. Smart money is likely watching that $110.19 level; if we don't see a high-volume push past it, we're going to drift.

Don't let the 'Wait' signal fool you into thinking the bottom is a hard floor. It's a soft sponge. We're waiting for the RSI to either reset or for the Fear & Greed index to show signs of life. Until that 0 moves upward, liquidity will remain thin and slippage will remain high.

Will the bulls find the strength to reclaim the $110 level, or is this just the eye of the storm before another leg down?

Not financial advice.
