ETH Signal Flips to WAIT as Price Stalls Near Key Moving Averages

The Sell-Off Loses Its Teeth

Ethereum just shook off a heavy sell signal, shifting the dial from a high-conviction 80/100 sell score down to a neutral 46/100. This isn't a victory lap for the bulls, but it's a clear sign that the immediate bleeding has stopped. When we saw that previous sell verdict at the $94.64 level, the market was in a completely different headspace. Now, at $2417.22, the frenzy has cooled into a tense standoff.

Technicals Hit the Wall

The reason for the sudden shift to a WAIT stance lies in the cluster of moving averages currently acting like a ceiling. ETH is currently grinding right underneath the MA50 of 2419.46 and the MA200 of 2421.53. These two lines are separated by less than three dollars, creating a massive zone of technical friction. Until the price can print a convincing daily close above that 2421.53 level, buying here is just gambling against a proven resistance zone.

The RSI(14) is sitting at 45.2, which is the definition of no-man's land. It's not oversold enough to trigger a value play, and it's not showing enough momentum to suggest a breakout is imminent. It's a momentum vacuum.

Sentiment and Strategy

Perhaps the most jarring data point is the Fear & Greed index sitting at 0. It's rare to see sentiment this bottomed out while the price remains in the mid-2000s, suggesting that retail participants are completely checked out or paralyzed by uncertainty. For a trader, this means liquidity might be thin and volatility could spike without warning if a large order hits the books.

If you're holding a short from the previous signal, the move to a 46 score is your cue to tighten stops or take some chips off the table. The bears haven't lost control, but they've certainly lost their momentum. On the flip side, chasing a long here is premature. You're fighting two major moving averages with a neutral RSI and zero market sentiment to back you up.

We're waiting for the market to decide if it wants to reclaim these moving averages or use them as a springboard for another leg down. The smart money stays on the sidelines until that 2421.53 level is either reclaimed or rejected with volume.

Are you ready to jump back in, or are you waiting for the MA200 to prove itself first?

Not financial advice.
