ETH market update: Signal flips from Sell to Wait

The bleeding stops but the trend stays cold

Ethereum just shook off its aggressive sell rating. After sitting at a heavy 80/100 sell score when price action hovered near $1873.01, the system finally dialed back the alarm to a neutral Wait signal at $63784.01. It's not a victory lap for the bulls, but it's a sign that the relentless downward pressure is losing its grip.

We're seeing a market caught between exhaustion and uncertainty. The RSI(14) is sitting at 47.3, which is effectively no-man's land. It's neither oversold enough to trigger a reflexive bounce nor strong enough to suggest a breakout. Traders are sitting on their hands, and the data shows they're right to do so until a clear direction emerges from this choppy range.

Moving averages tell a story of resistance

The gap between the short-term and long-term trend remains the biggest hurdle for any recovery. ETH is currently trading just above its MA50 of 63382.2, providing a thin layer of immediate support. However, the MA200 is looming much higher at 69915.12, acting as a heavy ceiling that the market hasn't been able to crack.

Until we see a sustained move toward that 69k level, this pivot to Wait is more about survival than growth. The price is sandwiched. If the MA50 fails to hold, we're looking at a return to the previous bearish sentiment. If it holds, we might see the sideways grind continue for weeks.

Fear is the dominant flavor

On-chain sentiment is currently stuck in the basement. The Fear & Greed Index is at a 29, indicating the retail crowd is still spooked. While contrarians often look for deep fear to buy the dip, 29 isn't quite the "blood in the streets" level that usually precedes a massive reversal. It's just quiet, nervous, and stagnant.

For active traders, this shift to a 56/100 score means the risk-to-reward ratio for shorting has evaporated, but the case for a long position hasn't materialized. You're better off watching the 63k support level like a hawk. If the market can't find buyers here despite the neutral RSI, the next leg down will be fast.

Are you waiting for a confirmed break above the MA200 or is this 63k level enough of a discount for you?

Not financial advice.
